Neil Duncan-Jordan, the MP for Poole, has tabled a parliamentary motion highlighting the impact of recent changes to the skilled worker visa, which include raising the salary threshold and removing special status for social care workers. The motion argues that these changes could threaten key sectors such as health and social care, as well as other public services, including transport. It also highlights the contribution of skilled worker visa holders to the UK economy, noting their role in addressing critical shortages in areas such as health, engineering and social care.
