The case dates back to March 2020, when chemist Karan Sharda and his associate, Durgesh Mishra, were arrested near Sai Baba Mandir in Sector 29.
Despite the High Court directing the Chandigarh DGP in September 2020 to file a fact-finding affidavit, no such document has been placed on record so far.
Unconvinced, Sharda approached the High Court once again, this time demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into what he claims is a police cover-up.
Taking serious note of the allegations, the High Court has now instructed the DGP to furnish a comprehensive affidavit compiling all reports, documents, call records, and CCTV footage to establish the truth.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the case has raised sharp questions over due process, police accountability, and the reliability of evidence in high-profile narcotics investigations.
