I’ve been with this company for over three years now, 18 months as an intern during college, and now 21 months full time. The company 401k vests 100% at the two years of service mark. The company SPD states “If you are hired as a part-time employee and are expected to work less than 1,000 hours per year, you will be eligible to participate in the plan if you complete one year of service. Interns were not eligible to contribute to the company 401k…I’m only a couple months away from the “full-time” vest date but I would like to start looking for other opportunities and worried that if i tell them i can’t start for three more months they might not hire me. I just wana know if i am able to tell them if I can start right away or not.
