La Strada International has submitted its contribution to the EU Commission’s public consultation on the EU Civil Society Strategy, calling for stronger protections and meaningful inclusion of civil society organisations (CSOs), especially those working in the field of anti-trafficking. In recent years, civil society organisations across Europe have experienced a significant shrinking of civic space. La Strada International therefore strongly support an effective EU Civil Society Strategy. La Strada International’s Key Demands for the EU Civil Society Strategy:Recognise CSOs as Equal Policy Partners: Ensure civil society has a formal role in shaping EU and national policies on anti-trafficking and other social issues. Improve Coordination and Platforms: Institutionalise the upcoming EU Civil Society Platform as a central, permanent mechanism for engagement, and align it with other EC-led platforms for better coherence.
