Comment on Asercom calls for PFAS exemptions in formal consultation response by Neil Afram
['Neil Merrett']
Comments for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Some companies working in the HVACR sector have been highly critical of the proposals for PFAS.
Marco Masini, Asercom’s president, said that the group’s response aimed to highlight the importance of carefully managing the PFAS proposals in line with efforts to decarbonise RACHP equipment.
Dina Koepke, director of governmental affairs for the event sponsor Copeland, discussed some of the RACHP industry’s concerns about the risks of the PFAS restrictions.
These included fears that they could contradict or undermine important components of the EU F-Gas Regulation that industry has been working towards in recent decades.
Ms Koepke said she was personally sceptical about whether the current PFAS proposals would be passed in their existing form.
