Wanda Sue Schneider, 88, of Norman, Oklahoma, was born on October 27, 1936, in Garden City, Oklahoma, to Roland and Pearl (Brashears) Phillips. She attended Stonewall Public Schools. She passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was married to Ellis Schneider Jr. on May 10, 1954. They started married life as a Navy couple in California where their two daughters, Gwen and Karen, were born. After Navy life, they moved numerous times following Ellis's career. One of their moves was to Hobart, Oklahoma, where their son, Terry, was born. They eventually settled in Grandfield, Oklahoma, for 26 years before moving to Norman to be close to family. With Ellis's failing health, they moved in with their daughter, Karen, in Moore, Oklahoma. In 2023, Wanda Sue moved in with her sister, Kaye, in Norman, where she lived when she passed away. Wanda Sue enjoyed bowling, gardening, collecting rocks, traveling, and most of all, being with family. In her last two years, she became an avid sports fan, especially of the Thunder. She was so excited to attend a Thunder game and have her picture taken on the court with Rumble, the team's mascot. She is survived by her children, Bobbie Karen Schneider Walker and Terry Ellis Schneider, both of Norman, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Rachele Upton, Tera Elledge (Jake), Trey Ellis Schneider, and Kyle Anthony Walker; great-grandchildren, Walker Upton, Bradley Upton, Londyn Elledge, and Gibson Elledge; her sister, Kaye Cradduck; and her brother, Charles Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Schneider Jr.; her great-grandchild, Lennon; her parents, Roland Phillips and Pearl Phillips; her siblings, Janelle, Bill, RV; and her daughter, Wanda Gwen Schneider. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00pm, Sunday, August 17th, at Havenbrook Funeral Home-Norman. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Monday, August 18th, at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm, at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall, Oklahoma. Wanda Sue's life was guided by her strong faith in God, which gave her strength, comfort, and joy throughout her years.
