Jimmie (Jim) Tucker passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025. He was born in Jumbo, Oklahoma on June 22, 1936. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Sylvania Tucker; parents John and Mary Tucker; brothers E.J. and Darrell; and sister Mary. He is survived by his three children: Kathy (Tom) Medford, Annette (David) Jacks, and Greg (Kimberly) Tucker; as well as 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. During the years of 1955 - 1957, Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He did his basic training at the anti-aircraft artillery replacement center at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He served in Korea with the 7th Infantry "Bayonet" division and was in the Searchlight Platoon (the only U.S. Army division that remained in Korea after the armistice, helping maintain peace and stability in the region). Jim had a love for basketball. He played for the Shawnee Wolves in high school and continued to play the sport for the Inchon Wheels while serving in Korea. Jim lived his last 16 months at the Norman Veteran's Home. Special thanks are given for the tender, loving care he received from all the staff and other veterans. A special shout-out to "Doc B" who immediately befriended Jim. A military interment will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the care of Affordable Cremation Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
