Christopher Michael Laning, aged 81, passed away on September 11, 2025, at his residence in Tempe, AZ. Christopher was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Hans and Mary Laning. He leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Linda, to cherish his memory. He also leaves his brothers, John (Mary Lynn) Laning of Little Rock, AR and Laurence (Judy) Laning of Cincinnati OH. He also leaves sister-in-laws Sue Widjeskog, Judy McCormack, Kathy Widjeskog and brother-in-law Roy (Susan) Widjeskog of Bridgeton, NJ as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends. He graduated from Raytown, Missouri high school in 1961. In 1965 he graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He served two years in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He attended Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management for one semester and left to establish his own business in the early days of the pay television business. His later career was involved in many cellular communications companies until his retirement in 2006. Christopher was a man of varied interests his entire life from scuba diving, ballroom dancing, to stock trading and writing poetry to name a few. He greeted each day with a prayer to the lord and gave thanks before each meal.
