The Scottsdale City Council on Tuesday scrapped plans to move forward with a lawsuit over a new state law that cancels a public vote on the proposed headquarters for law enforcement technology company Axon, opting instead to pursue negotiations with the company, which said earlier this year that it is done negotiating. The Scottsdale City Council chambers were packed with Axon employees Tuesday, so much so that the room reached capacity and people were sent to overflow areas. Axon has often brought many of its employees, donning yellow Axon t-shirts, to events to support the legislation or council votes. “There is no guarantee this will come back to the Council,” Graham said of the original motion. Axon praised the council’s decision to defer litigation on the new law that the company championed.
