To save Denji, Pochita sacrifices himself and merges with his owner, transforming Denji into Chainsaw Man, the human-devil hybrid character we follow throughout season one as he becomes a government-certified Devil Hunter working in Public Safety. Produced and animated by MAPPA, the same animation studio behind the uber-popular Jujutsu Kaisen, season one of Chainsaw Man was broadcast from October to December 2022. While many anticipated a season 2, MAPPA announced in December 2023 that Chainsaw Man would return with a movie.
