Melbourne 10-piece funk outfit Mondo Freaks launch their debut, self-titled album Friday December 12 at Howler, Brunswick - proudly presented by PBS. 2025 has seen Mondo Freaks garner worldwide attention for their crisp, sophisticated take on funk through a steady stream of singles, including 'Bells Are Ringing', 'I’m a Fool', 'Won’t You Decide' and 'Turn This Love Around'. Originally conceived as a concept band with an ever-evolving setlist of late ’70s and early ’80s funk classics, Mondo Freaks’ journey has seen them invited to back such luminaries as Leroy Burgess and the iconic Evelyn "Champagne" King on their Australian tours. Having performed at Meredith Music Festival, Golden Plains, and Panama Festival, as well as numerous residencies, Mondo Freaks have well and truly carved their mark — now returning to ring in a new era of groove-soaked original music.
