A few weeks ago, I was one of the first to post about “Palestine” being represented at Miss Universe for the first time by one Nadeen Ayoub – an aesthetically pleasing woman with albeit problematic views. "Miss Palestine" Nadeen Ayoub tells @SkyNews that she wants to show the world that palestinian Arabs are human beings like everyone else. I would say everyone in the world sees them as human beings; it are Jews and Israelis who many are not viewing or treating as human at all. So yes, Miss Ayoub, the world already acknowledges your humanity. And by the way, you needn’t go to Miss Universe to make the point that palestinian Arabs are human beings.
