The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) says construction of the Wakhan corridor road in Badakhshan will be completed before the winter season reaches. At the ministry’s annual accountability program, the acting minister of MRRD Mohammad Yunus Akhundzadeh said that China has also shown its readiness for transit through Wakhan road. He stated that thousands of small and large development projects have been implemented in the country over the past year. He added that they are negotiating with the World Bank to determine the fate of 20,000 unfinished projects in the country. The ministry officials also stated that parallel development has started in the country and they have begun their work in all areas where rural projects are needed.
