The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has directed an immediate freeze on several critical processes at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), citing non-compliance with rules on staff staying in office beyond the compulsory retirement age. In a letter dated 22 September 2025 and circulated by the UCC Registrar, the commission warned that no new requests from the university will be processed until it fully adheres to directives issued on 19 September.
