The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has thrown its weight behind the national campaign to curb non-communicable diseases with a GHC 2 million injection into the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.
At a brief presentation ceremony, GoldBod’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Richard Nunekpeku, lauded the government’s health-care vision and the Fund’s leadership.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the Trust Fund, Administrator Obuobia Darko Opoku highlighted stark gaps in medical resources exposed by a recent needs assessment.
“Our focus is to equip health institutions with the tools needed to provide quality care for patients battling non-communicable diseases,” she said, noting that several major facilities in Accra still lack essential equipment.
GoldBod’s contribution, she added, signals more than financial support—it demonstrates a collective resolve to strengthen Ghana’s health infrastructure and deliver better outcomes for patients nationwide.
