According to the Norwegian child welfare services, the girl, known as Nikola, had been neglected by her Polish parents, Arkadiuszem and Helena Rybka, who have lived in Norway for five years. Speaking to NRK, Rutkowski said, “I am prepared to travel to Norway to be questioned by the Norwegian police at any time, or do so at the Norwegian Embassy in Warsaw.” He also claims that the action was legal, as the girl came to her parents of her own free will, but charges may still be brought by the Norwegian child welfare services.
