Raspberry Pi is expanding its product lineup with a new computer-on-a-module designed as a lower cost alternative to the Raspberry Pi CM4 or CM5. North American pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but according to ITHome, Raspberry Pi unveiled the new Raspberry Pi Compute Module 0 (CM0) at the China International Industrial Expo this week, revealing that it will be available soon with prices ranging from about $18 to $26. At the heart of the Raspberry Pi CM0 is a Raspberry Pi RP3A0 system in a package that combines a 1 GHz Broadcom BCM2710A1 quad-core ARM Cortex-A43 processor with 512MB of LPDDR2 RAM. In other words, it’s basically a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with some additional I/O features, an optional eMMC module, and a different form factor. It’s unclear when the new Raspberry Pi CM0 will be available for purchase, but with the company showing it off in China this week, a global announcement could be coming soon.
