The Port Huron City Council is hoping to crack down on smoking in city parks and beaches.
At Monday night’s city council meeting, an ordinance was introduced to do just that.
Mayor Pauline Repp, speaking to WPHM’s Paul Miller yesterday, says city council has been considering a no-smoking ordinance for several years.
The no-smoking ordinance had it’s first reading Monday night and would officially ban the use of any tobacco product, marijuana, or vaporizers at city parks and beaches.
City Council this week approved a $9-million bid from Emterra Environmental for five years of trash removal services.
