KenGen has already identified 5 sites in the geothermal rich area for the construction of the industrial park. Mugo says the company will offer subsidized power to factories within the industrial park as an incentive and that several companies have already expressed interest in the project. However, KenGen says the 280 mw project is on schedule and that the first phase comprising 140 mw is already connected to the national grid. The company has set aside 1,300 acres in Olkaria Naivasha for the construction of the industrial park.
