The Fight In Their Own Backyard Russia is in a line of immediate geographic threat since it shares the same land mass as the rapidly expanding military forces of ISIS coming out of Syria and Iraq, whereas the US is separated by these Jihadist massacres by an entire ocean. Would America not get involved in military operations in South or Central America if something akin to ISIS occurred?
