Ronald E. Ewig Sr., 83, of Middleburg, passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by loving family.
Born on Aug. 1, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles and Esther (Stuck) Ewig. On Jan. 17, 1964, he married the love of his life, the former Jean Kahler. They were married 61 years. Together they had a daughter, Rhonda (Paul) Mull, and one son, Ronald Ewig Jr.
Ron worked for National Limestone Quarry, Reichenbach Construction, and he retired from The City of Sunbury Street Department.
He was an active member of St. Paul's Erdley's Lutheran Church where he served on the cemetery committee. He was also a lifetime member of Kreamer Sportsman's Club.
Ron enjoyed playing cards and pitching quoits with his family and friends, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a die-hard racing fan and loved spending time in his garage.
Surviving is one brother, Bob (Joyce) Ewig; two sisters Peggy (Gary) Raup and Bernadine (Roger) Liddington; one brother-in-law and best friend, Dave Liddington; two grandchildren, Mariah (Chris) Beachel and Wesley (Halie) Mull; and seven great-grandchildren, Zoey, Meadow, Madison, Aaliyah, Cooper, Ryker, and Kendall. Preceding him in death was Charles Ewig, Elmer Ewig Jr., Dorothy Liddington and Connie Swope.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 North High Street, Selinsgrove from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at St. Paul's Erdley's Lutheran Church, 2337 Erdley Church Road, Middleburg, from 10 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service to begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's Erdleys Lutheran Church - Building Fund.
