Making the announcement during its CES 2013 press conference, Samsung has revealed that its flagship Android smartphone, which it claims holds a 33 per cent market share of some handset markets, has sold more than 30m units globally to date as it continues to battle with the iPhone 5 for the crown of the world’s most popular smartphone. Hitting the 30m marker well ahead of its Samsung Galaxy S2 predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is now firmly the company’s most successful handset to date as speculation and expectation grows around the Apple rival’s next flagship model, the heavily rumoured Samsung Galaxy S4.
