He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Alice Hartman; siblings Eunice (Byler), John, Lucinda (McGrath), Dennis, and Leon­ard; three infants; and son Nathan Peter. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marilyn (Troyer) Hartman; children Treva (Leon) Greaser, Alice (Mark) Jantzen, and Luke (Staci) Hartman; siblings Ralph (Carolyn) Hartman and Miriam Hartman; sisters-in-law Lenore Hartman and Viola Hartman; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. At Hesston College he met Marilyn Troyer, they were married August 18, 1955. Peter served as nursing home administrator of Beth Haven, Hannibal, MO for 18 years, then pastored churches in Carlsbad, New Mexico and Yoder, Kansas until 2000.
