Islamic State fighters shown attacking the Arkaban border post near the Jordanian border. The Islamic State has released photos showing its forces attacking Iraq’s Arkaban border post near Jordan. The pictures show fighters firing on the border post with rocket propelled grenades, small arms, and with technicals (pickup trucks armed with heavy machine guns). Iraqi media reports that the Islamic State attack on the outpost was repelled by Iraqi border forces backed by airstrikes. Last November, the Islamic State attacked an Iraqi military outpost near the Trebil border complex with Jordan.
