A man has been charged after allegedly attempting to escape custody before tasering a police officer in NSW’s west. The man was taken to Bathurst Hospital for overnight observation after sustaining minor injuries during the arrest, police said. The officer sustained minor injuries and was assessed by hospital staff as a precaution. The man was taken to Bathurst Police Station, where he was charged with six offences, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm of a police officer and malicious damage, amongst other offences.
