Newitz hit the fiction scene in 2010 with short story “The Gravity Fetishist,” which appeared in a magazine called Flurb, edited by Rudy Rucker. Annalee Newitz splits time between San Francisco, where they have lived for a while, and Vancouver, Canada. Now I’m a lot more comfortable making my characters do things and justifying it however I want. Even better, they can reconfigure their bodies in ways that humans can’t – so there’s definitely some wish fulfillment in there too.
