What do you feel is the appeal of horror for many readers, and is the appeal of writing horror similar for you? I think horror tends to be slightly shorter, if only because I think readers can only sit with dread and disorientation for so long. Whereas my sci-fi work just tends to be longer, because there are more things to work through and/or explain. The guiding through line, or theme, I wanted to focus on in Uncertain Sons was fear, indecision, and doubt.
