Apple is touting a record number of overnight sales after the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handset became available to pre-order ahead of the September 19 release date. While pre-orders for Brits opened at 8am on Friday morning, for customers stateside that equated to midnight on the west coast, 3am on the east coast and somewhere in between for the rest of the country. In a statement to the Recode website an Apple spokesperson said: “Response to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been incredible with a record number of preorders overnight,”
