Many had been expecting the follow-up to last year’s Google Nexus 5 to be called the Google Nexus 6, both reflecting that it was the next in the series and the larger size of the display. For one thing, Google’s naming system has always been more about the display size than the version – hence the Google Nexus 7 is a 7-inch tablet rather than some amazing future phone. The second 7-inch tablet it launched following on from the Google Nexus 7 was called the Google Nexus 7 2013.
