Battlefield 6 owes its optimisation to the Xbox Series S; no word on Switch 2 port

Battlefield 6 owes a series of optimisations to the Xbox Series S — and mostly because developers were struggling to get the game running on the lesser-powered console, they’ve revealed.
Speaking with Kotaku, technical director Christian Buhl called the Xbox Series S a “challenge”, mostly because it “does have less memory than even our mid-spec PC”.
“There was a point… like, 6 to 12 months ago where we kind of realized that a lot of our levels were crashing on Xbox Series S,” Buhl confessed.
To address the issues, Buhl said the Battlefield 6 team began optimising memory usage inside the game, also working on “specific optimizations” for the Series S as well.
Expect Battlefield 6 from 10 October on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
