The Vandalia Rotary Club welcomed Rotary District 6490 Governor John G. Calderon as the guest speaker for its September 9 program. Born in Manhattan, Kansas, Calderon served three years of active duty and seven years in the Marine Corps Reserve before building a career in communications. He also shared updates from Rotary International, introduced the new president, and discussed the upcoming district conference, which will showcase community service and fellowship. Calderon closed by reminding members that Rotary’s impact grows when Rotarians share their stories: “We do so much good, but we don’t always tell people how good we do. Our job is to spread that hope.”
