Melba Dorothy Miller, 92, of Fillmore, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Montgomery County Nursing and Rehabilitation. Melba was born on September 3, 1933, in Nokomis, IL, to the late Elden Herbert and Neva Eloise (Tooley) Haines. Melba is survived by her children: Everett (Kay) Miller of Coffeen; Leona Miller of Macon, IL; Cynthia Miller of Salem; Debra (Mike) Jackson of Fillmore, IL; Susan (Wayne) Jackson of Vandalia; Gary (Joyce) Miller of Fillmore; Paula (Tony) Fullerton of Westervelt, IL; daughter-in-law: Brenda Miller of Fillmore; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and one on the way; five great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; brother: Muryl Haines; sister: Arlene Haines; sisters-in-law: Hazel Miller and Esther Haines; as well as several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Fillmore Baptist Church in Fillmore. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
