Sheriff Garry McFadden released a video on Wednesday, accusing former employees of “ultimate betrayal” after two of his chief deputies resigned within the last year, alleging that McFadden fostered a “hostile” and “toxic” work environment. A third high-ranking official in the Sheriff’s Office was fired late last year and filed a wrongful termination suit against McFadden. My trust in my staff was betrayed,” McFadden said in the 12-minute video posted to his department’s official YouTube channel. In his resignation letter, Allen said he had “endured constant backstabbing, lies, disrespect, and false narratives” while working with McFadden. In November 2024, Angelia Riggsbee, another high-ranking official in the Sheriff’s Office, was fired by McFadden after working less than a year as director of business operations.
