The Toronto Blue Jays placed first baseman Ty France on the 10-day injured list due to left oblique inflammation and activated right fielder Anthony Santander from the 60-day IL on Tuesday. Toronto also designated right-hander Alek Manoah, who has not pitched in the major leagues this season, for assignment. Santander has played in only 50 games in his first season in Toronto, batting .179 (33-for-184) with six homers and 18 RBIs. He is a career .242 hitter with 161 homers and 453 RBIs in 796 regular-season games for the Orioles (2017-24) and Blue Jays. Toronto selected Manoah with the 11th overall pick of the 2019 MLB Draft out of West Virginia.
