More than 300 new charter school seats are expected to open up in Nevada next year, following the approval of three new charter schools by state and city authorizers. Meanwhile, the City of Henderson approved what is expected to be its first city-sponsored charter school: Kesher Academy, a Hebrew-language immersion school. Carson City School District, in feedback to the SPCSA, criticized the charter school authorization process, specifically the criteria used within the Academic and Demographic Needs Assessment. No feedback from Clark County School District was included as a part of Kesher’s application materials.
