Dorothy M. Saputo, 93, of Meadville, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at Edinboro Manor. Dorothy was born in Brandt on February 17, 1932, a daughter of the late Lewis and Vera (Terrell) Box. On January 23,1951 Dorothy married Joseph Saputo, Jr.; he preceded her in death on August 22, 1998. She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church. After more than 20 years of service, Dorothy retired from the former Avtex Fibers in 1985 when the plant closed. Over the years she had also been employed as an LPN by Rolling Fields and by the former Spencer hospital for many years. She was a 1950 graduate of Susquehanna High School. Dorothy is survived by three children, Joseph Saputo (Peggy) of Woodville, TX, Anthony Saputo of Visalia, CA, Timothy Saputo (Jeanne) of Meadville; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Nicole, Nicholas; two stepgrandchildren, Matthew, Kate; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Rosie; a brother, Gerald Box of FL; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Joseph of 47 years, Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Saputo; infant son, Francis Saputo; and three brothers. Visitation is Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 2-4 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE, where a scripture service will be held at 3:45 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Father Jeff Lucas, pastor, officiating.
