Evelyn E. Lawrence, 102, of, Saegertown, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Transition Care, Meadville.
Evelyn was born in Cleveland, OH, on April 9, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph W. and Elizabeth (Nelson) Walker.
She married Charles Lawrence, Sr. on July 5, 1947; he preceded her in death on September 19, 2013.
Evelyn attended school in Kent, OH, and graduated from Meadville High School. She worked for Bell Telephone, American Viscoses, and retired from Talon after 21 years in accounts receivable. She was an avid bridge player and attained the title of "life master' while living in Gastonia, N.C. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan, and received a signed puck from Sidney Crosby after she attended her first match at the age of 91.
Survivors are three sons, Charles Jr. (Becky), Joseph (Cheri), both of Saegertown, and A. Mark of California; a nephew, John Lawrence (Susan), whom she helped raise; a sister, Joann Kottler of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, Kelly Moutsatsos (Russ), Mark Phelan (Marisa), Ellie Amory (Jason), Andrew Lawrence (Mary), Joey Lawrence (Kelly), Lyndi Lachance (Aaron) and Tiffany Willard (Matt); 12 great-grandchildren, Grant Phelan, Tyler Amory, Sophie Moutsatsos, Will Phelan, Maria Amory, Sebastian Moutsatsos, Kelsie Lachance, Emerson Lachance, Lynette Phelan, Alene Lawrence, Samuel Lawrence and Leroy Phelan; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Munley; a brother, Maurice Walker (Louise); several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to call from 3-7 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD ST., SAEGERTOWN.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Father Kyle Seyler, parochial vicar, officiating.
Evelyn will be laid to rest with her husband, Charles, in Venango Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Evelyn's memory to The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, 353 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.
