Comment on Borrowers must get advice before product transfers – Star Letter 19/10/18 by Derek

Malcolm is absolutely correct, but I think he is being very generous by saying no one could have forseen how big the post MMR non-advised mortgage product transfer market would become. The lenders certainly did, which is why they have spent so much to take advantage of the execution only process that they can currently get away with. Of course clients will use a quick click process, because so many people now want the "McDonalds drive through" quick process because they see quick as good and they convince themselves they have a good deal.
Not only should the lenders service at remortgage have to be advised, but the option for them to waiver the the erc should be stopped. There is one reason and one reason only why they do this and that is to exclude the clients advisor from the process.
