When Tron Disappeared From Home Video Though Tron represented the cutting edge in technology, the film itself was kept in a low-tech state of suspended animation for years. After the mixed response to the belated Tron: Legacy sequel in 2010, Disney decided to continue the franchise in a more financially modest way with Tron: Uprising, an animated series for their Disney XD channel.
