Microsoft Updates Windows 11 with Faster Recovery, Redesigned Restart ScreenMicrosoft has released two new features in the latest version of Windows 11 that aim to reduce downtime and improve system recovery. The updates, (cumulative update KB5062660) for Windows 11, version 24H2, include a redesigned unexpected restart screen and the general availability of quick machine recovery. First, the unexpected restart screen in Windows 11 is getting a facelift. The feature uses the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) along with targeted fixes delivered through Windows Update to detect and resolve startup problems. Microsoft said its early telemetry shows a 24% reduction in unexpected restart failures on Windows 11 24H2 devices compared with Windows 10 version 22H2.
