WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature spotted in Beta for Android version 2.25.27.1, according to feature tracker WABetaInfo. A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo reveals a new “Mute @everyone” option located under the existing mute toggle in the notifications settings of WhatsApp for Android. Once available, the feature will let users suppress notifications triggered by “@everyone” mentions, even when group chats are muted. Currently, the mute everyone mentions option is in development and hasn’t yet been rolled out to beta testers registered on the Google Play Beta programme.
