Idaho Springs police are investigating a fatal climbing accident after a person fell from a route along a nearby state highway, according to the department. The Idaho Springs Police Department, Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office and multiple medical and rescue teams responded at about 3:05 p.m. Saturday to the 400 block of Colorado 103 for an unspecified climbing accident, police said. A Flight for Life helicopter joined rescue teams, but responders found that the climber had fallen and died from their injuries, police said.
