Weirdly enough, On the Rocks is a movie made for streaming that really feels like a movie made for streaming. Funny Pages is a self-aware debut that fully embraces the chaos of its protagonist's mind and his condescending view of the world, leaning into cartoonish flourishes that wouldn't work in a conventional comedy movie. Before they conquered the Oscars, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert made their feature debut with Swiss Army Man, a film best known for the walkouts it caused at Sundance.
