A 350-year-old manor house in Dartmoor brought beautifully into the modern day
['Anthony Gardner', 'Paul Massey']
House & Garden
When the current owners of this idyllic manor house on the edge of Dartmoor first glimpsed the estate, they knew it had everything they were looking for – a combination of woodland, river and meadows, which would allow them to create their own miniature nature reserve. The windows here look east along the river valley, and provide a generous display for Guy’s chosen fabrics in the library and sitting room which flank the hall. 'The idea was to use artisan furniture and fabrics to hint at the simplicity of the period during which the house was built, with a few rich touches that might have been imported from Europe or the colonies,' explains Guy.
