Rabidly genocidal statements have been emanating from the mouths of Israeli politicians for 34 months, and for 34 months these statements have been translated into genocidal actions by the Israeli military. In January 2024, on the basis of Israeli claims that twelve UNRWA employees out of 30,000 in Gaza might be Hamas (later revised down to just four), the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Romania and others stopped funding UNRWA, the main UN agency controlling aid distribution in Gaza. De-legitimatizing the UN aid model in this way, allowing the western media to run with ‘UNWRA is Hamas stories,’ failing to speak up in defence of UNRWA, directly paved the way for Israel’s final solution in Gaza.
