Hi David I have come from Game Fishing east coast to Barra fishing Karumba due to my age I have found most of the Barra I have caught are hooked outside the mouth, I have put this down to them lashing out with the side plates of head to stun their prey, and a hook up in this location one sometimes pulls the hooks, compared to a hook up inside the mouth. Have you ever experimented in applying marlin fishing by having a drop back hoping the Barra will then inhale the stationary lure. Also my strike rate has improved by removing the tail treble and replacing with a single hook on 110mm Gold Bombers. This gives the Bomber greater action. Regards
