The Preacher ending saw Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy taking on God and his apocalypse and coming out on top after four seasons of searching. In the end, Jesse faced off against God, and Cassidy sacrificed himself to save his friend after betraying Jesse and Tulip so many times along the way. God wanted Jesse to tell him he loves him, but Jesse refused, despite Jesus being the last person seen to be refusing God's loving plan.
