Designed for 160 km/h operation, the Daxing Airport Express Line runs for 41·4 km from an interchange with lines 10 and 19 at Fengtai Caoqiao; it has 23·7 km underground, 7·1 km at grade and 10·6 km elevated. Guangzhou Metro Group procured a common fleet of 40 eight-car trainsets to operate its express metro lines, designated Type D1 for Line 18 (blue) and Type D2 for Line 22 (bronze). To that end, Line 22 is being branded as the Fangbai Intercity Line, while Line 18 is to become Guanghua Intercity Line, with a planned connection at Huadu into the Guangzhou – Qingyuan Intercity Railway.
