There is usually a time limit of around 20 hours a week that you can work while in Austria on a student residence permit. No work permit is required for holiday or work placements that are prescribed as part of a course of study in Austria. After you graduate from your programme in Austria, you can renew your residence permit for a full year to stay in the country and look for work or set up a business.
