So, putting this together, since Galileo believed that the earth orbits the sun and that our interpretation of Scripture must therefore reflect this, but the Church’s official interpretation of Scripture is that the earth doesn’t orbit the sun, this essentially equates to Galileo reinterpreting Scripture and saying that the church’s interpretation is wrong.
